Making CONNECTIONS
CCC's programs engage students from underserved communities of Washington, DC in interactive workshops and college and career field trips which allow students to explore college and career options and set goals for the future. During our first two years of programming College & Career Connections (CCC) has partnered with six schools and four youth serving organizations to engage approximately 500 7th-10th grade students in motivational, experiential college and career exploration programs.

Over the past two years, CCC has…
During the '09-'10 school year, College & Career Connections is facilitating college and career workshops weekly with 60 8th graders from The SEED School, bi-weekly with 150 9th graders from Cesar Chavez Public Charter School, Parkside Campus, and monthly with 150 6th and 7th grade students from Friendship Tech Prep. We will work with additional students during the spring semester, including 80 students from KIPP: KEY Academy's 7th grade class. Interactive trips to local colleges and career field trips to local workplaces reinforce concepts introduced in our workshops and help to make them tangible.

CCC is committed to building a college going culture among youth in Washington DC. Our partner schools have included Ronald H. Brown Middle School, IDEA Public Charter School, KIPP DC: KEY Academy, The SEED School of Washington DC, Cesar Chavez Public Charter School's Parkside Campus, and Friendship Tech Prep. Our nonprofit program partners have included Kid Power-DC, Breakthrough DC, Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, and Higher Achievement.
