OnTrack! Program
Overview
CCC’s flagship program, OnTrack!, provides early college and career exposure for 400 youth from DC’s lowest-income communities. The core of CCC’s program is its signature, two-year interactive classroom workshop series, offered during the school day to all eighth and ninth grade students at partner schools. In these workshops, students assess their own strengths and interests and explore how those interests intersect with various careers. Eighth grade students this year will participate in workshops such as ‘Learning & Earning,’ ‘College 101,’ and ‘My Career Interest Inventory’.
CCC supplements this workshop series with at least one visit to a local college campus for each student, where they tour the campus; eat in a dining hall; participate in an educational scavenger hunt; and interact with college students, professors, and coaches.. Youth also experience a career activity, where they learn about diverse career options and the educational paths to prepare for them. Examples include field trips to local workplaces and speed-networking events where students talk with professionals from multiple career fields and learn about their experiences.
